Long time no blog. Its been a minute and alot had transpired. Majesty had a great turn out and the gig was insane! That said, we have another gig coming up soon and the details are on my facebook page. On another similar note, I finally got a hold of a Bari sax. I had been looking for one for a long time. But like the saying goes good things come for those who wait. I was able to snatch up a German vintage silver Bari. Majesty will have a funky low A to complement them on their already funk-a fied horn section. I'm up here in Jacksonville doing a job. The downtown area is sorta cool. Enough of this improper blog rant.

P.S happy b-day Raquel you old hag. Maybe I'll show you those naked pics of your daughter one day ;)

- Posted using my iPhone

Location:Kings Ave,Jacksonville,United States

New printer+ music= my equation.

Woke up this morning only to find my old HP Photosmart 7600 dead on the scene. she gave me a good ten year run and well, I guess it was time to retired. Iv'e been pondering the all in one HP wireless printer for quite some time. I think im going to take the plunge and go get one at this point. The real reason why i need one is to have the ability to fax. My networked scanner that i currently have in place in my room does all that jive and then some however I have never seemed to get the fax working on it.

Side note: I will be performing with Miami's legendary band Majesty this evening at Miami Lakes Cafe and grill. Come join in on the fun. Great music, hot chicks, no cover. Cant beat that.
A seven hour flight to say the least none the less. I had my movies preloaded onto my iPhone and MacBook pro however, I chose to go a different route as far as form of entertainment is concern. Gogo inflight Internet service has probably been around for about a good solid year. I tried this service still when it was in its premature stages of the game and my experience to be honest wasn't all that great. I flew Alaska airlines where the service was free. I hoped on the gogo inflight's "ssid" and off I went. If speed is what your looking for then you should probably consider not reading the remainder of this blog article. Surfing the net and grabbing email was an awesome experience. I'm not sure what designated speed they had caped per user but it was pretty zippy. Not once did I experience lag. Trying to conserve my laptops battery life, after about and hour and a half of pure surfing I decided to hop on with my iPhone. I immediately got on facebook where I was able to take picture and quickly uploaded them like it was nobodies business. I have nothing but a great review from my experience and will give this a 5 star review. Next time your on a long flight I recommend gogo Internet.

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Location:Unnamed Rd,SeaTac,United States

Weekend recap. iphone4+ iphone 3Gs sold=some extra dough.

As you probably heard the new iphone4 has made its debut. I went ahead and took the plundge by purchasing Apples newly beautiful device. The phone is much slimmer then its predecessor. Purchasing the new phone left me with the old one and of course theres always that money thats being tied up. I mean, what am i suppose to do with an extra iphone. My initial thought was to hand it over to the folks over at Gazelle. They seem pretty fair and repudable. You simply tell them what you got and in what standing condition the product is in and they ship you a box. Simple as that. Gazelle offered to buy my old 16 gig iphone for 189 dollars which I thought wasent to bad. However I got impatient and curious and placed an add on Craigslist. Turns out i ended up selling the phone for $300 bucks cash.

Not to bad for a regular weekend and a little extra cash in hand.

iphone 4 sucks parody video.

Great parody video I found talking about the old glorious iphone. As a daily power user, im usually quick to the dram whenever our favorite fruit stand pops out a new product. However this time I cant say it was the same. Our household has already four Macs and I wasent sure where this one would fit in. The truth of the matter is that this device is not to replace another device. Its simply serves as the medium to fit your daily current devices (If there is such a thing) So who needs this device? The end user thats not really a power user but rather than a casual user? My wife, who happens to be a recently converted windows user (thank god) fell in love with the device. She currently uses our macs at the house to A. Check her email B.Gossip on Facebook and C. Internet surfing and paying the bills. She fits the bill just right as a daily casual usual. She absolutely fell in love with the product and immediately adapted well to it. She loves how light it is and how slick the OS comforts and sooths her soul. While setting up the device I connected it to itunes and immediately downloaded Pages & numbers.

I bought some essential apps for her and while doing so started tweeting and checking my email and navigating the web. Infact, i caught myself doing more like writing the review that i'm typing now. Do you see where I'm going with this? The iPad was not the device that i thought would be necessarily something i would be interested in however, it integrating itself into my daily digital saturday morning routine. The battery Life is exceptionally good! and the user experience is quite easy. I believe this is exactly the way Apple inteneded this product to be. Simply integrating... even for a user like me. Not bad for a fruit stand.

Back to business, same concept-new meaning.

It's been a long time since I haven't posted up a blog post. My son is finally here and thanks to the lord he's healthy as can be. These two and a half weeks away from corporate america have been a much needed time off. To tell you the truth (I was getting a little burned out) I'm on an airplane now and on my way to a business meeting to North Carolina. Since the birth of my son, I see things a wee bit differently. Fewer things matter, but more things have particular meanings (if that makes any sence at all) being the workaholic that I am, I am going to make a constant effort not to work during the time that I'm home. In theory, that's the way it should be. But if you want to get ahead in a corporation it is my philosophy that if I work while you sleep then that means I get more done thus making me more efficent. Sounds like a catch 22?well then it might so be it. I'm learning that, that's not neccesarily true!

In life you need a balance and that's totally true. The ting the yang, good and evil, all those sorts of things. My fmily is going to come first and as far as corporate America comes, the wy I look at it is, alot of the times, I stress for things that are far beyond my pay grade. I cant fix the structure of one whole department and quite frankly I don't get paid to do so. Balance is the key to all in life and a constant reminder to thy self Is the key to a new beginning.
Baby is due next thursday and I still need a bathroom to paint. Crib will not be assembled as my mother in law seems to be very superstitious about having the crib done before hand (I know i said the same thing your thinking). My business trip to New Jersey was a nightmare and a half. Between the snow and dealing with a very weird and condescending dr. that only seem to be the beginning of the nightmare trip I had in-store coming back home. I got held up in Newark Liberty with a domino effect of canceled flights. Im gonna say this flat out. Continental Airlines just suck.

Customer service was simply the worse I have ever experienced. Newark being one of their hubs didn't help to the cause either. the way they treat their customers Im surprised they even stay in business. I ended up sleeping in the airport after the captain decided to turn the the airplane around back to the terminal, the ice was to sleek and the airplane could not take off. I spent a total of 14 hours in the airport. Im going to enjoy the next three weeks being off and more so being with my son.

Marriott. I have managed to rack in total (without ever using points per stay) about a total of 277,000 points. In recent conversations with a colleague of mine, he asked if I ever gave Marriott a try. I have stayed maybe a couple of times but didn't see what all the grip was about. I've chosen to this year give my new home away from home a new design. Best part of it all is that I didn't have to pay a single cent to grab new furniture or paint the walls!

Im staying at a Marriott property right now. In fact, thats where Im creating this blog from. I truly can say and be one of the ones to attest that Marriott has far superior services than Hilton. I couldn't believe it! One thing that strikes me right of the back is how Modern and ubber geeky atmosphere their creating. The rumor is by 2011 they have turn around more than 80% of all their hotel properties to the new and design look and feel. Marriott has this new bistro where you can grab great breakfast and happy hour starts at 5:00pm till 10:00pm.

Their definitely catering as well to the business traveler. They understand the need and demand of certain things like for example. The Computers with printers right by the hotel (their calling those the Ticket airline stations) Then they got the OLED big screen where you can touch for on demand news, traffic, weather and of course CNN. Im very impressed with the new look and happy I made the right decision right at the beginning of the year. For quite some time now (twenty years to be exact) I have been talking about how I would like to go to this wonderful country. Having family there, I have heard nothing but great stuff and the privileges that come by being a Canadian citizen. From the minute that I got off the plane I felt a sense of respect and humbleness, and at the same time I felt at home. Canadian are very much so polite individuals. I checked into my hotel and The front desk concierge spoke three languages; yes three languages.

The next morning as I walked through the streets of Ottawa, I literally lost count of how many times I heard good morning and good day. It’s little things like this that tickle my fancy. The city is also really clean and organized in such a way-from the airport to the department stores. I really came back with a positive note and a new mind set in potential living terms. Canada I would say is definitely within my next twenty year margin as one of the possible cities that I would relocate my family to. I’d say its probably a good place to raise kids as well. Im going home today and plant the seed to my wife and hopefully she takes a small interest to the possible Idea of us moving there in the near future. After all, I have twenty years to convince her eh.

Dog vs. Sesame street

The latest news bouncing around the Inter-webs is that Apple has placed an order with panel supplier Innolux for a bevy of 10" touch panels to stick in the new devices, be they called iSlate or whatever the marketing team eventually hits on the dart board. This vibes with what we'd heard earlier about the screen being either 7 or 10" in the diagonal, and it reveals a little bit more about the process: apparently Apple wanted to go with this release earlier, but they were concerned about the strength of the glass. Now they've got the stronger glass they need, so supposedly the rumors on the wind say they're ready for a January announcement, with a release coming in March or April. They've even got another supplier lined up to crank out even more of these screens if needed.

A translated WSJ article also says a Taiwanese company called Chang Uei Precision has been signed up to provide "connectors" for the device, but that sounds quite vague and they say a release isn't planned until Q3 of next year.

As always, this all remains hearsay -- Apple hasn't even officially announced an event in January yet, much less hinted that they'll be releasing a revolutionary tablet-style device. So remember what Grandma said about counting chickens before they hatch, and don't. But if any of these rumors prove to be true, it'll be an interesting 2010.

{Courtesy of TUAW}

How to reset Airport Express Base Station

Soft Reset

With the AirPort Express plugged into a power outlet, launch the Network System preference and choose AirPort from the Show pop-up menu. I recently got an opportunity to perform a successful hackintosh. I have an Acer one aspire that I cloned to function as my corporate computer. This was only decided shortly after I was unsuccessful to hackintosh it. I felt really bummed out after I failed to read the destruction to the particular wireless card that it needed. Today I woke up as a determined man. I got my hands on a Dell mini 10 (by the way, This is the most compatible computer to use in order to do this successfully) and began the eventful painstaking process. There are lots of tutorials explaining on how to go about this process so there's a lot of material out there specially here mydellmini.com. If you are able to follow specific guided destructions I'll post the link and article of what you"ll need step by step to undergo your brand new hackintosh experiment and add it to your group family computer.

Here's how and what you'll need.

http://osx.mechdrew.com/guides/

ATT, thieves or con artist?

Monday morning- while I'm relaxing at home, AT&T decided to throw in their collections team at me due to a balance they said I had accrued. To give you a synopsis of what has been going on, I was an AT&T customer for four long years. Shortly after my third year, I decided to throw in another line for my mother. I travel a lot and consequently I have some particular bills on automatic debit withdraw, big mistake right? Turns out I had been paying (for several months) ridiculous amounts of up to sometimes $300 dollars worth of cell phone bill. Freaking ridiculous and absurd. After several months of taking it and being treated like I was taken advantage off, I took my business somewhere else. Well, to say the least AT&T with severe scrutiny surrounding them did not like my move.

I contacted them several times to dispute my ongoing astronomical phone bills however they didn't seem to think I had a valid point! Gee, I wonder why. So I grabbed an attorney. Little did Ms Vianne know that she had another thing coming to her. One day all AT&T iPhone customers will have a choice to have the iPhone with a different wireless carrier. Until then you have enough
time to keep screwing more valued customers. Your day will come. In the mean time, Keep screwing other customers
-Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Airline status gone platinum.

Good god was I waiting for this one to ever happen. This year has been extremely busy for me. I fly a lot but never seemed to keep a steady rhythm with one single airline. I several trips to South America this year with American and well they bumped me up really quick. At the beginning of the year I started off with Gold status and now I have reached more than 60 segments, thus putting over the top at Platinum tear status. This definitely has its perks and advantages. I make no lines, get bumped up to first class more often than usual and well-traveling is just simply more comfortable. Im going to enjoy flying from now.

Travel Gear, Ready for the Internet nuclear War.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_JLoTO7jQ4iM/Styzy8E3j9I/AAAAAAAAAA4/PxINVIdH-Rc/s320/DSCN1591.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394384141384388562" />

I get asked alot "Rocky, What kind of gear do you travel with when your out? Then I have to start mentioning the computers I carry, why two? Why I pick some items over other and so on. I figured I was long over due for this one and it needed a well deserving blog post. As you may know, I travel extensively for my company. I Work with computers and need to stay connected at all times (I’m pretty much my own ambulatory office) My preference of Choice for computers have always been Macs. I travel with a 13" Macbook Pro (decked out). This thing is fully upgraded with a 320gig hard drive and six gigs of RAM.

I get most of my corporate emails on both of my machines and Blackberry but mostly I carry it as a preference thing. I can very well get my emails on my Acer windows machine however; I don’t have the RAW power of a computer with this as I have with my Mac. I also carry around a net book Acer Aspire One. I use my machine mainly for email purposes and to log into the backbones VPN. Although I could do this on the Mac, sometimes I have to carry my computer from rooms to room for key authentications and well, the Acer PC is only 2 pounds Vs the Mac book Pro 8 pounds. For camera, I use a Cannon 8.2 Megapixel. Its not the best in the industry but it takes good shots and it does the trick.

For camcorders I use a Sony Handy Cam. This thing is so badass. It’s lightweight, slick and elegant. The fact that it has a 4 gig internal memory and also an expandable SD card memory slot, gives the icing to the cake. For portable Internet services I carry a USB connect wifi card from At&t. its 3G is ok for surfing the web and picking up emails but I’m currently looking to replace this device with a mifi from Verizon. I’m hearing lots of good reviews toward the product and the speeds are actually not bad. With Verizon upgrading their network to the 4G technology by the Q1 next year, I want to be ahead of the game and give it a shot.

A Wedding inTampa

Weddings can either turn out being a very fun event or a very dreadful one at that. One of my cousin's got married this last weekend. She grew up along with me and my sister. We are pretty much the oldest cousins out of all my dads brothers and sisters. We headed out to Tampa, Fl for this unique special day of hers. I saw a lot of family members I had not seen in ages and some I didn't quite care to see. It's funny when you haven't seen a group of person in ages and all of the sudden you see them and starts speculating to make up for the rest of their lives, It's like you start putting pieces of a puzzle for this persons life with very limited information (kinda freaky but fun never the less) My Cousin looked very pretty and actually made a really good couple with her now husband Paul. I remember when we all use to play at the playground, chase each other down the blocks and now were sitting her presence for one of the biggest day of her life. Great day in history and in the family to say the least.

Dentist appointment.

A very well needed trip to the dentist was done today. I had been a while since I last had a deep cleaning, for almost a year and a half due to time availability (that's no excuse)I know. Dr. E is very good and was recommended to me by my wife's family. It helps that's she's not only a family fried but as well as their dentist for years. Some rads were taken
Which later determine that I had no periodontal disease. I'm set for a couple of follow up visits before I get my Ortho work done with her. This is going to bring me back some memories as a kid when I had braces., ahh, good times. Pictures later to come.

-- Posted from my iPhone

Booq mamba "saddle bag"=sexy!

My Booq mamba laptop bag finally made it's presence yesterday. I had been eyeing this thing for about a year now but just never got around to buy it. When I travel, I usually lug around my Macbook Pro 13" as well as my 8.9 Acer among hard drives, wireless cards etc etc. My other bag made by incase, made it very uncomfortable when I had to lug around both computers and accessories. I opt to finally buy the booq and it's all that in a bag of chips. This thing has such a slick design and definitely lots of cubic space inside. It has various departments to stow my cables and drives and surprisingly so it does not feel heavy. If your looking into a nice well design slick bag this is definitely a good choice.

-- Posted from my iPhone

Does she come with a mute button.

I'm sitting in a plane with a great seat on my way back home. The guy at the end of the seat is keeping to himself with having nothing to say. Just him and his book. However, I can't seem to say re same for this retarded girl sitting next to me. Not only did she board late, but she has not stopped talking to her friend infront of me. This girl is standing up and just ordered two rounds of sky vodka for her and her friend. That's ok and all but she is everywhere and can't seem to shut it up! Not everyone wants to know how your relationship with your boyfriend is as strong as your drink or how your parents are struggling to sell the house. Maybe you should stop running your mouth and see what you can do to help them sell it.

To the girl who flew American Airlines flight 1999 and sat in seat 18b, thanks alot for being a fucktard.

-- Posted from my iPhone

Football Sunday/Blogpress

I'm posting this short article from the application blogpress. This is yet another form of me to communicate my short stories/daily chronicles and current events. I will publish this and hopefully by the time I hit done, this will reside in webpage. On another note, I'm sitting here in my living room awaiting for the dolphins game. I'm not much of a fan but I like to give the losers a try every time they play, will they prove us wrong this time or will they yet again maintain their usual losing streak tradition and have us say- "we'll get em next time boys. Through out the years I had heard so much about the Island but never thought in a million years I would visit this beautiful place. My initial reaction to when I first landed was (this place looks just like Barbados) not so much. Barbados is clearly more tropical and caters more to the tourist type crowd. Trinidad is a bit different. If you've ever had the opportunity to visit places like, Venezuela, Colombia, Nicaragua etc..this is exactly the way Trinidad looks like. I stayed in a a great hotel called the Kapok, very accommodating. Breakfast was my favorite time of the day. I had a private elevator that would escort me directly in the middle of the 8th floor where breakfast was being served. Trinidadians’ are clearly hustlers. You find your local vendors in the streets and bartering is really big in the island. I drove a right-handed stick shift car in a left-handed road-this was very confusing to say the least. The nightlife in Trinidad is one like you will ever imagine. One thing is Carnival in February but the truth of the matter is that Trini's never stop partying all year around. I visited the famous St James Street and got to feast myself with one of the famous local Roti-authentic style. Tobago is definitely what you want to visit if you’re going to Trinidad.

Winblows 7 Ultimate "Cookie monster"

I was recently working on a project and noticed how my thumb drive was acting somewhat really funny. I kept seeing a Autostart.inf file as well as a Winlogon.exe file. This was really starting to irritate me as I could not initialize startup without having to go through the painful task of right clicking and opening everything. Not being at home I couldn't exactly run a proper virus scan. When I did finally run the scan i found a graybird/ trojan sitting in the back of the auto.inf file. Im not sure what it was phishing but i noticed i was getting some unusual mail traffic in the last few weeks. Funny thing is that every mail I would get was something that really spiked my interest. This trojan and bot-net that was living in my thumb drive was also sleeping dormant in my parallels partition. Ugh, no matter how much you try to evade the plague somehow it lives everywhere...

A war veteranas reality.

I was on my way home and decide to stop by and get one of those 6" inch tasty subs from publix. While the deli lady was fixing my sub, I happened to turn back and saw this very older gentlemen rocking back and forth. I saw he was wearing an apron and was fixing up some slices of ham with cheese on a platter. I said to myself (there's no way this old gentleman is possibly working) and he was. I was so sadden to see Don working at such an age. I stood there for a couple of minutes and decided to engage in conversation with him. Don is 92 years of age and is a world war II veteran. His wife recently passed away and cant hardly afford his house payments, as he still owes his mortgage. Don gets limited medical covered through the VA and well he just needs money and at times somebody to talk to. To tell you the truth this broke my heart. Heres a guy that fought for our country and at his third stage in his life he should be at home watching the ball game and resting on his recliner. Instead, he's working at a publix trying to make ends meat. By the time Im eighty ill be lucky if social security is still around. This is clearly an eye opening for me that the government could care less about social health care in this country. While we spend more money sending troops to fight other countries war and not take care of our own business here at home, we will continue to have more Don's in a supermarket somewhere near you. Id like to see how many congressmen have their mothers and fathers working in the Deli department.
